Special Social Invention Competitions
If you dream together, it becomes a reality. When ideas gather, they have the power to change society. The 2009 Seoul Youth Creativity Summit & Festival introduces the ideas of the youth, the future of our society. We will hold two marvelous Social Invention Competitions, embracing methods of living that put into practice new relationships that go beyond their money-mediated relationships of youth with parents, friends, teachers and colleagues.
① First Seoul Youth Creative Thinking Contest “ Alone in the City”
I became alone in this city. If one day my parents and our house suddenly disappear, how will I survive? Today’s youth were raised under the plans of their parents. How would they answer when asked the question, “how would you like to live if my parents and our house disappeared?” Let’s meet the life plans of teenagers, presented through the various media of videos, photography, music, among other things.
-Topic: “If one day my parents and our house suddenly disappear, how will you survive?”
-Organized through public participation.
-Works will be judged based on medium—stories, videos, posters, music, etc.—and prizes will be awarded from the Mayor of Seoul.

② Youth Social Venture Competition
Today’s youth, who, while living their lives to the fullest, also want to change the world. What are the “business items” that they see with their alternative and sustainable perspective that differs from that of the previous generations? This is a festival for 20-year-old youth out to reform society, who want to originate and practice social enterprise in their communities. The winners will be presented with financial support and incubation of their ideas in conjunction with the Work Together Foundation.
-Topic: “Create Your Social Enterprise”
-Planning and practice of new social businesses in the domains of social reform and 20-year-old communities.
